The Setar Hotel Complex came to light in Quartu Sant’Elena in 1983 on the coastal road that runs all the way to Villasimius. Its builder, Antonio Depau, had the idea of creating a huge structure plunged in a park-like setting, well-equipped to welcome hundreds of guests and provide them with a wealth of services, whether they were coming to Sardinia on holiday, for work or to attend a conference.
His love for nature was so great that he even decided to build a minizoo, a children’s play area and a sporting zone. It became a favourite spot for families and young people alike who still have a fond memory of this no-longer existing area of the Setar.
Over the course of time, the Depau family has planned and created the Hotel Setar, which was completely renovated in 2003.
The hotel lies in the midst of a green and lush park with well cared for gardens, majestic palm trees around the swimming pool, olive, lemon and fig trees, rosemary bushes, herb beds and typical Mediterranean shrubs which provide our guest with a paradise of colours and scents and make sure that they can enjoy a calm and peaceful holiday in this quiet and secluded spot.
Inside the Hotel there are two restaurants, the American bar, a newsagent’s, a cash point machine and a number of elegant reception rooms, all ready to host ceremonies, gala dinners and banquets For our business travellers, we have 16 Conference rooms with modular spaces that can host a total number of 2500 guests with state-of-the-art audio-video technology, 24 hour reception, Wi-Fi, fax and photocopiers.
For anyone who is looking for a more active holiday, we have 4 tennis courts, a huge open-air swimming pool, a children’s’ pool and car, scooter and bike hire. Our capable staff are also skilled in preparing tours and personalized itineraries for all our guests who wish to get to know more about our Island.
